Companion Pet Assistance

We deliver pet food, cat litter, flea medication and other basic supplies to low-income, senior and disabled pet owners in need in Mecklenburg & Union County, NC. We also assist with critical veterinary care (as funding allows), vaccinations, basic grooming and dog training to keep animals happy and healthy and with their families for life.  

 Who qualifies? 

  • Low-income and senior community members without the funds to purchase such necessities as pet food, cat litter and flea medication. 
  • Low-income community members who cannot afford to take their pets to the vet for critical care. See below for more details about our Veterinary Intervention Program. 
  • Pet owners living on the streets with their pets. See below for more details. 
  • Injured pet owners who need temporary help with walking their dog or cleaning the cat's litter pan. 
  • Disabled individuals who need help grooming their cat or dog, such as brushing and clipping nails. 
  • Elderly pet owners who need assistance with cleaning their bird cage once a week.
  • Pets in need have to be altered or sign up for a surgery through PEAR.
